Robocop 2014

| Sep 7, 2013

Remakes, remakes, and remakes. Yes, Hollywood is already a loss to produce an original work. But the remake is not really a problem, as long as quality and have the same essence with the original film without having copied frame by frame. It seems like it is done by Jose Padilha, director RoboCop remake to be aired on February 7, 2014.

Sony and MGM have released a trailer for the latest iteration of the movie RoboCop. And through the trailer, we can see the changes that occur in the bionic human figure. The trailer itself actually looks quite promising and give a new breath to the robot, while still showing the proper respect for the work of Verhoeven. The star, Joel Kinnaman (Snaba Cash, The Killing TV series) looks pretty fit to play Alex Murphy. Good indication? Could be. Although sometimes the trailer can be very deceiving.

RoboCop remake has gone through "development hell", including the casting process as well as production runs. In fact, had reportedly clashed with the studio, although the issue is disputed by both sides. And it seems the production process runs smoothly, when referring to the number of photos leaked from the set.

Besides Kinnaman, the RoboCop remake starring Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish, Michael Keaton, and Samuel L. Jackson. With this great cast lineup, hopefully the new version of RoboCop is going to be a good work and became a hit in 2014. Here is the movie trailer for Robocop along with some official images released by the studio.

The latest trailer featuring veri RoboCop in the modern world. This time the figure of RoboCop turned on by Joel Kinnaman. Jose Padihla Explains Robocop (2014) Plot

he new Robocop movie is described by its director, Jose Padihla, as not a remake, but one that sounds more like a natural extension of the original.
Padihla brought Robocop to Comic-Con where he debuted the first footage which gave an indication as to the movie's plot.

Now in an interview with SlashFilm, Jose Padihla expands upon the ideas and themes he is presenting in his Robocop 2014 movie.

"Well first of all, I’m not trying to remake Robocop, because I don’t think Robocop is remake-able. When I hear the word “ROBOCOP” I think about the first movie only and I think that the first movie has a lot of bold direct decisions in it that worked out," Padihla said. The director then continues explaining the movie's plot where we see OmniCorps gets involved, headed by Raymond Sellars played by Michael Keaton.

"So we decided to make a movie where we are in 2026 where we are in the future, America is using robots for war all over the world, but because robots are not accountable, the Americans will not allow the robot to pull the trigger domestically, there’s a law that forbids that," Padihla offered. "So this corporation is losing a lot of money, because it cannot sell robots at home. So how do you circumvent the law? You put a man inside a machine; you make a robot that has a conscious."

Padihla also offers that this Robocop will have a Big Brother approach in that its connected to every camera in the city.
